The spaceBright rooms with large windows, high ceilings and ornate cornicing adds a touch of grandeur to this cosy Edinburgh flat. Owner's are experienced travellers with a great knowledge of the Edinburgh area and it’s more undiscovered nooks and crannies.
The space gets plenty of light until late evening in the summer as it is west facing. It has a large entrance hall with all rooms leading directly from it, with windows over 6 feet high (approx 2 meters) and 10 foot plus high ceilings with gorgeous ornate cornicing in one of the bedrooms.
The new kitchen is fully equipped with a wooden work top and Belfast sink, all the usual appliances including gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. A comfortable adjoining lounge area has been furnished with a two seat sofa an armchair and coffee tables and features a window seat area so you can watch the world go by whilst sipping on a coffee. There is a television with an internet TV device and an internal DVD player with a interesting selection of DVDs should you need them.
Both bedrooms are stylishly decorated with modern furnishings including standard UK double bed (140 x 200cm), bedside tables and wardrobe with inbuilt drawers.
The bathroom is decorated in a classic style with a black and white tiled floor, a bath and a powerful shower with heated towel rail.
We have a travel cot should you need it but you would need to provide your own bedding for this. Also for babies / children we have a large box of toys, children's books and DVDs.
Guest accessGuests have the whole flat to themselves and therefore access to everything in it apart from a storage trunk kept in the small room adjoining the back bedroom.

Neighborhood overviewLocated within a stone’s throw of the Royal Terrace below Calton Hill, so close it feels as though the famous public grounds are your own gardens. Within short walking distance to The Old Town and the Royal Mile plus Princes Street and the tram terminal at York Place, easily catch one of the regular buses on the adjoining London Road to further afield places such as Leith’s The Shore, Portobello Beach, or East Lothian’s stunning countryside and coastline.
Everything you could ever need is on your doorstep including supermarkets, delicatessens, takeaways and restaurants, gym, cinema, shopping mall, pubs and bars all less than five minutes stroll away. However rest assured as Hillisde Street is not a noisy neighbourhood, it’s perfectly situated so you can enjoy all the best bits of city life but tucked away in a quiet well looked after street with respectable residents.
Getting aroundFrom the airport.
Tram.
There are trams every 10 minutes from the Airport terminal to York Place which is a five minute walk away from the property. The journey from the airport takes approx 40 minutes and at the time of writing costs £5.00 to and from the airport.
Train
The property is a 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverly Station.
Arriving by car.
Parking is free only between 1730 in the evening until 0830 in the morning and all weekend from 1730 Friday evening until 0830 Monday morning. Please be absolutely sure to park in the designated “Pay & Display” bays and NOT the“Permit Only” bays. You can buy a “Pay & Display” ticket to park outside these times for approximately £1.00 an hour or you can park your car a few blocks away on one of the roads adjoining Leith Walk, from Albert Street onwards where the parking is free. Please ask if you are unsure.
